Expecting Amy is an unfiltered three-part documentary that shows the struggle, strength and ambition that has made Amy Schumer one of the singular comic voices of all time. It takes viewers behind-the-scenes as Schumer battles through an extraordinarily difficult pregnancy while documenting the formation of a comedy special.

In October of 2019, it was announced actress-and-comedian Amy Schumer would serve as executive producer and appear with her husband Chris Fischer in a documentary about her pregnancy, life, and career, directed and edited by Alexander Hammer (Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé) for HBO Max as a launch title docuseries. It was subsequently announced that Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein, Kevin Kane and Kim Caramele would also appear.
